Supporting growth through better visibility
Rapid growth through acquisition created an opportunity to standardise resource planning and improve visibility across the Group. Historically, resource planning was managed through a variety of approaches across different offices and entities, including spreadsheets, CCH and other legacy systems.
As the Group continued to grow, maintaining a consistent view of capacity, availability and utilisation became increasingly challenging.
“Following the integration of 14 businesses into the Shaw Gibbs Group, we recognised the need for a more consistent approach to resource planning. Different entities were using a variety of tools and processes, which made it difficult to gain a clear picture of capacity across the organisation.
As we continue our growth journey, having visibility of availability and utilisation becomes increasingly important. We needed a solution that would help us make informed resourcing decisions, optimise utilisation and support long-term profitability across the Group.”

Selecting a solution for a complex organisation
Shaw Gibbs identified five key requirements for a future planning platform:
-
Resource scheduling across multiple offices and service lines
-
Visibility of conflicting priorities and partial allocations
-
Meaningful utilisation and capacity reporting
-
Integration with existing business systems, including CCH
-
A scalable solution capable of supporting continued growth and future acquisitions
Beeye was selected to address these requirements while providing the flexibility needed across a multi-office, multi-service-line organisation.

Simon Givens, IT Transformation Lead, Shaw Gibbs
The rollout represents an important step in Shaw Gibbs' wider operational transformation programme, supporting greater consistency, efficiency and visibility as the business continues to expand.
Building the foundation for future growth
The initial rollout focuses on Audit and Accounts, where the need for greater planning visibility was highest.
Looking ahead, Shaw Gibbs plans to extend its use of Beeye to further service lines and support longer-term workforce planning, enhanced forecasting and additional system integrations. The firm aims to develop rolling planning horizons, improve visibility of future resource requirements, and create a consistent framework for growth across the Group.
“When a firm grows from 100 people to nearly 800 in three years, knowing where capacity sits across the Group helps ensure acquisitions deliver value quickly.” said Adrien Sicard, CEO of Beeye.
“We look forward to helping Shaw Gibbs plan with confidence as the group keeps growing.”
